Jeff Stanley loves to paint both in nature and in the studio. When starting a painting on location, he paints with slow drying Open Acrylic paint. He usually returns to the same location at the same time of day as many times as it takes for the painting to look and feel complete. Most paintings will later get refined in the studio.
When starting a painting in the studio, Jeff uses professional grade acrylic paint. He might work from pencil drawings, a smaller painting done on location, reference photos, or simply by starting with color and seeing where it goes.
In order to stay mentally fresh and achieve maximum beauty in his paintings, Jeff believes in the importance of snacking and napping.
